Music Video Mixtapes: A Plex Music Video Channel on Apple TV
Opening a Plex music video library should not have to begin with folders, artists, and one more choice. Music Video Mixtapes on Channel 19 turns the video sources you select into a continuous personal station, so something is already playing when you tune in.
Channel surf your own library. You already collected the videos. Bunny Ears TV gives them a place in the guide beside the rest of your channels.
The Channel 19 vibe
Channel 19 feels like a personal late-night music video block: varied enough to leave running, structured enough that the same artist does not have to return immediately, and grounded in the collection on your own server. The familiar format is the reference point. Bunny Ears TV does not provide or recreate a licensed cable network feed.
What can show on this Plex music video channel
Music Video Mixtapes can schedule video files from one or more Plex sources you choose:
- Music video playlists
- Video collections organized around a genre, era, mood, or other theme
- Video libraries containing eligible music videos
Those sources can share airtime proportionally or more evenly. Optional controls can add space between videos by the same artist, favor recent additions, build short artist-focused sets, and display a Song ID from available metadata. No commercial music video catalog is included, and Bunny Ears TV does not download videos for you.
Plex can associate local artist and music videos with a music library when the files follow its music video organization guidance. A separate Plex video library can also work when that is how you maintain the collection.
How Channel 19 becomes a virtual television station
Choose the playlists, collections, or video libraries under Settings > Music Video Mixtapes. Bunny Ears TV imports the available items, applies the mix and spacing choices, then builds a running schedule. The guide presents Channel 19 as one continuous station with what is playing now and what comes next.
The videos remain on the Plex server you selected. Removing a source from Channel 19 does not delete the Plex playlist, collection, library, or original files.
Why a Plex music video library might not fill the channel
Channel 19 needs playable video items with enough information to build a schedule. If it appears empty, confirm that the source is visible to the linked Plex account, test a few videos in Plex, and check titles, artist information, runtimes, and file access. A remote library can also take longer to import than a small local playlist.
Watch music videos on Apple TV without Docker or IPTV setup
I built Bunny Ears TV for the moment when you want to turn on Apple TV and let the library choose the first song. The app runs natively on supported Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad devices. It does not require Docker, an IPTV service, M3U or XMLTV files, or separate Bunny Ears TV server software.
Music Video Mixtapes is included in the always-free 26-channel Basic package. Bunny Ears TV has no third-party ads, and your media stays on your Plex server.
