Terms of Service
The practical rules for using Bunny Ears TV and the website.
Last updated July 27, 2026
Plain-language notice: These terms describe current product and business practices as of the date above. They are written for users and are not legal advice. Nothing in them removes rights that applicable law does not allow a business to waive.
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Bunny Ears TV, LLC for the Bunny Ears TV app and bunnyearstv.com, together called the Services. By downloading, purchasing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Bunny Ears TV is independently developed. It turns eligible media from a Plex Media Server into channels and a program guide on supported Apple devices. Bunny Ears TV does not provide movies, television episodes, music, a Plex server, or a separate Bunny Ears TV account.
Contents
1. App license and requirements
The app is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms, Bunny Ears TV grants you a limited, personal, noncommercial, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, and through permitted Family Sharing, in line with the App Store Usage Rules.
The App Store license is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Apple Media Services Terms, to the extent those terms apply.
Current minimum requirements are:
- Apple TV 4K, first generation or newer, running tvOS 26; or a compatible iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26.
- A Plex account, access to a Plex Media Server, and eligible media in at least one selected movie, television, or music library.
- A network route that allows the device to reach the selected Plex server. Remote playback remains subject to Plex access and entitlement rules.
- An Apple Account for App Store purchases, restoration, Family Sharing, and any iCloud features you choose to use.
The current app works with one selected Plex server at a time. It does not connect to Jellyfin or Emby, consume IPTV playlists, or replace Plex Media Server.
2. Your Plex server and media
You are responsible for having the rights and permission needed to store, organize, and play the media available through your Plex server. Do not use Bunny Ears TV to access or play material unlawfully or in violation of another person's rights.
Your media remains yours. Bunny Ears TV requests metadata and playback from the Plex server you select, but does not supply, upload, host, sell, or claim ownership of your media. It does not delete or reorganize original files on your Plex server. You remain responsible for server administration, access controls, backups, and Plex configuration.
3. Third-party services
Parts of the Services depend on products run by others, including Plex authorization and playback, Apple App Store and StoreKit purchases, optional Apple iCloud sync, Apple Weather, and the website and diagnostic providers listed in the Privacy Policy. Their own terms, privacy policies, account rules, availability, and technical limits apply.
Bunny Ears TV is not responsible for third-party outages, account decisions, server policies, network routes, data, or feature changes. Plex and Apple names and marks belong to their respective owners. References to them describe compatibility and do not claim sponsorship or endorsement.
4. Basic, Plus, and App Store purchases
Basic and Bunny Ears TV+
The Basic package currently includes 26 channels and can be used without starting a paid trial. Bunny Ears TV+ includes the 16 premium channel packages, eligible DVR Mode controls, Custom Channels, and Ad Bumpers. Plus is offered as monthly, annual, and lifetime products.
Price and regional availability
Current US App Store prices are $4.99 per month, $29.99 per year, or $99.99 for lifetime access to new features and updates. These prices are descriptive, not a promise for every storefront. The price, currency, tax treatment, product availability, and offer shown by Apple on the purchase screen are the final terms before payment.
Trials and renewal
Eligible customers may receive a 14-day introductory trial with the monthly or annual subscription. Apple determines eligibility and displays the offer before confirmation. Unless canceled, a monthly or annual subscription renews through the Apple Account at the interval and price Apple shows. The lifetime product is a one-time purchase with no recurring billing.
Canceling, refunds, restoration, and Family Sharing
Apple processes all payments. Bunny Ears TV does not collect card details and cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you. Manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account settings using Apple's cancellation instructions. The access end date shown by Apple controls after cancellation.
Apple decides refund eligibility. Requests can be made through Apple's Report a Problem service. Current Bunny Ears TV+ products support Apple Family Sharing, subject to Apple's account, family, region, and product rules. Older or grandfathered products can differ. Restore Purchases checks the current Apple Account and available family entitlements.
5. Feature and playback limits
The channel lineup and guide depend on eligible media, metadata, selected libraries, profile restrictions, settings, and subscription access. A built-in channel may be empty or absent when the selected server does not contain matching media. Guide times are generated from your library and are not a promise that every file will play.
- DVR Mode is an in-app playback buffer for eligible live video. It is not a tuner, persistent recording service, cloud DVR, or change to your original Plex file.
- Pause, seeking, Restart, thumbnails, subtitles, audio tracks, chapters, and other controls vary by channel, media, server response, profile, and device.
- Weather on channel 20 does not support DVR seeking, Restart, or Ad Bumpers. Weather also depends on location permission and Apple Weather availability.
- Ad Bumpers use only short Plex clips you choose. Bunny Ears TV does not insert third-party advertising.
- Background audio is available on supported iPhone and iPad sessions. Apple TV playback stops when the app leaves the foreground.
Playback can use Direct Play, Direct Stream, or a Plex-provided adaptive transcode. The selected route, file format, quality setting, server, bandwidth, and device capability determine the available path. Auto mode is not a guarantee of Direct Play, maximum quality, uninterrupted playback, or support for every file.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- Access, copy, stream, or distribute media without the necessary rights or in violation of applicable law.
- Bypass purchase entitlements, access controls, profile restrictions, or technical protections.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, damage, or introduce malicious code into the app, website, forms, or related systems.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Impersonate another person, submit spam or malicious content, or knowingly send false support or catalog-correction information.
- Use the Services in a way that violates applicable Apple, Plex, or service-provider terms.
7. Ownership and intellectual property
Bunny Ears TV, LLC and its licensors retain their rights in the app, website, software, design, text, artwork, trademarks, and documentation. These Terms grant only the limited right to use the Services described above. They do not transfer ownership or permit copying, resale, sublicensing, or creation of derivative products except where the law allows it.
You retain all rights you already hold in your media, Plex libraries, playlists, collections, and other server content. Third-party content and marks remain the property of their owners.
8. Availability, changes, and ending use
The Services are provided without a guaranteed uptime or service level. Availability can be affected by your device, operating system, network, Plex server, Apple services, weather data, or other providers. Bunny Ears TV may fix, add, remove, or change features, channel definitions, compatibility, and prospective pricing. Notice will be provided when applicable law requires it.
You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the app or leaving the website. Subscription cancellation must be completed through Apple. There is no separate Bunny Ears TV account to close.
Bunny Ears TV may restrict access to a website feature or service-dependent app function when reasonably necessary to address material breach, abuse, security risk, legal requirements, or provider changes. Sections that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability, and governing law, continue after use ends.
9. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how the app and website handle Plex connection and library metadata, optional iCloud sync, Weather location, StoreKit purchase information, diagnostics, website analytics, forms, and the email list. By choosing a feature, you also direct the app to send the data that feature requires to the relevant provider.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." Bunny Ears TV does not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free schedules, a particular channel lineup, compatibility with every Plex file or server, or continued availability of a third-party service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bunny Ears TV, LLC and the developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services, including loss of use, missed playback, service interruption, or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, warranty obligations, refunds, or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
11. Governing law and general terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer law and venue rights in your home jurisdiction continue to apply when they cannot lawfully be waived. These Terms do not require private arbitration.
If one part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce one provision is not a waiver of another. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable Apple license and purchase terms make up the agreement for the Services.
These Terms may be revised when the Services or legal requirements change. The date at the top will be updated when revised Terms are published. Continued use after the effective date means the revised Terms apply, except where law requires another form of notice or consent.
Apple's role
This agreement is between you and Bunny Ears TV, LLC, not Apple. Bunny Ears TV is responsible for app support and product claims except where applicable law or Apple's own terms provide otherwise. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the extent required by the applicable App Store license, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the app-license provisions and may enforce them.
