Funk: A Plex Radio Station from Your Own Music Library

A music library can be beautifully tagged and still turn into another browsing job. Channel 1052, Funk, gives matching songs a place on the Radio dial so the first decision can be whether to keep listening, not what to search for.

Channel surf your own library. Open Bunny Ears TV on Apple TV and something from your own collection can already be playing.

The Funk Radio vibe

Basslines with opinions, tight drums, and grooves that walk into the room first.

This station belongs to the Music package and is built for audio listening. The Now Playing view can show album art, artist, track, progress, and upcoming music when Plex provides the underlying metadata.

What plays on this Plex music channel

Funk can schedule:

  • Songs whose genre, style, mood, era, rating, play state, or date-added metadata fits the station
  • Tracks from the Plex music libraries selected in Bunny Ears TV
  • Music the active Plex profile is permitted to use

The station does not stream a commercial radio feed or include a music catalog of its own. It also does not play music videos. Video playlists, collections, and libraries belong on Music Video Mixtapes on Channel 19.

How Bunny Ears TV builds this Plex Radio station

Radio matching is deterministic. Bunny Ears TV reads music metadata exposed by Plex, applies the station's rule, and schedules eligible tracks into a continuous channel. The exact mix therefore reflects the tagging and depth of the selected libraries.

If Funk is empty, first confirm that a music library is selected. Then inspect the relevant genres, styles, moods, years, ratings, or play-state fields in Plex. Bunny Ears TV can organize the evidence Plex provides, but it does not guess missing music tags or rewrite the server's metadata.

Listen on Apple TV without another music server

I built Bunny Ears TV so Plex users could put video channels, Radio, Music Video Mixtapes, and Weather in one program guide. It runs natively on supported Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad devices. There is no Docker container, IPTV setup, M3U playlist, XMLTV feed, or separate Bunny Ears TV server to maintain.

Channel 1052 is part of the 68-station Music package available with Bunny Ears TV+. You can start with the 26 Basic channels free before deciding whether the Radio lineup fits your collection. Your songs remain on the Plex server you selected, and Bunny Ears TV does not insert third-party ads.
